Proclamation of the Governor, of Texas. The Commanding General of the Military District composed of the State of Texas having made a requisition upon the Governor of that State for not less than five thousand militia soldiers, to protect the coast and prevent the further invasion of Texas, Governor Lubbock has made an appeal for volunteers from the several militia brigades throughout the State. These volunteers will be received by companies of not less than sixty-four men by battailous or regiments, if already organized, and in either of these several forms tendered otherwise, they will be received singly or in squads and organized into companies, &c., when the men will elect their own officers — company, battalion, or regimental.
