Sentenced to be hung
--George, one of the negroes engaged in the recent murder of Gen. Dillard, was tried by the County Court of Amherst county, on Monday, convicted and sentenced to be hung.
The day for his execution has not yet been fixed.
George is said to have been the ringleader in this horrible murder, though from his own admissions he had always been treated with marked kindness by his master.
He is 60 years of age. The trials of the other parties engaged in the murder are in progress.
