--A Yankee, taken prisoner at Raymond, was asked what became of the many deserters who came over the river a few months ago, and were allowed to pass through this portion of the country at leisure, ere they were paroled and sent North.
We want his reply to reach the ears of every Provost Marshal in the Confederacy.
