The Yankees say that the troops concentrating at Old Point are intended for Charleston.
This is the Yankee mode of embodying the fact that they are intended for Richmond.
At this season of the year troops will not be sent from the North to Charleston.
Besides, if the troops concentrating at Charleston are a portion of Grant's forces, who came round by sea to Old Point, why did they not stop at Charleston on their way?
We may expect them up the Peninsula, and will endeavor to give them a suitable welcome.

While the train which conveyed John Morgan to this city was stopping in Columbus, Gov. Todd improved the opportunity of presenting his compliments to the rebel General, and shook hands with him in the car. He was accompanied by Gen. Mason and portions of their staff, all of whom were introduced to the distinguished guest.

--A late dispatch from St. Louis to the Chicago Times says: "Mrs. Malvin Boss, wife of John W. Boss, a worthy citizen of Nashville, Tenn., has died at the residence of a relative in Boons county, Missouri.
The deceased was a daughter of the celebrated Felix Grundy, of Jackson's Cabinet.
She was absent from Nashville by permission of Gen. Rosecrans to visit her relatives in Arkansas and Missouri."
