prescribed by the Discipline as preliminary to the reception of preachers, and that the Committee on Religious Worship be required to make arrangements for the administration of the sacrament of the Lord's Supper at some suitable time during each session of the Conference, to be followed, as the occasion may allow, by the narration of religious experience and the usual exercises of a love feast. Dr. Smith presented a report from the Committee of the Chaplains of the Army, (read by J. C. Granberty,) of a most interesting and important character. The report recommends the appointment of twenty additional chaplains for the army, and providing ample support for them and their families. Rev. D. S. Doggett presented a resolution in regard to the appointment of a missionary to the batteries and hospitals around this city. Petersburg and Lynchburg were afterwards included, and the subject then referred to the Committee on Chaplains of the Army. The hour having arrived, the C
