In the fall of Fort Fisher the troops of the Confederacy have lost a fort, but not their honor. North Carolina, in particular, has reason to be proud of the prowess of her sons. This is not the first, the second, nor even the fiftieth time, that the soldiers of that State have proved the mettle whereof they are made. There are no better soldiers in the Confederacy or the world. There is very little gas or humbug about North Carolina; but, at the pinch of the bill, she is always strong particular, has reason to be proud of the prowess of her sons.
