dent and general manager of the Western railroad of Alabama, and of the Georgia railroad and banking company. Augusta & Athens railroad until 1839. Removing to Alabama he engaged in planting, and was colonel of militia General Worth until September, 1847. Returning to Alabama, he was a planter in that State until 1849, when heates east of the Mississippi, excluding Georgia and Alabama. On November 28th, he was in command at Salisbury,t passed his twenty-fourth birthday. He removed to Alabama, where he has ever since made his home, at Opelika.n elected commandant of cadets at the university of Alabama.
