il 14 Jan. 1700, when he died a. 80 years; and the office was never again filled. Judge Sewall notices his death thus: Lord's-day, January 14 1699/1700. Elder Jonas Clark of Cambridge dies; a good man in a good old age, and one of my first and best Cambridge friends. He quickly follows the great patron of Ruling Elders, Tho. Danwas a goldsmith, and probably resided in Boston. He was living in 1705. Under date of Nov. 1, 1673, John Hull of Boston writes, I accepted Samuel Clark, s. of Jonas Clark, as an apprentice for eight years. 8. James, a housewright, was in Camb. as early as 1685. He was probably the same who m. Hannah Heath 27 April 1681, in Rps others. James the f. d. 8 Ap. 1714, a. 62; his w. Sarah d. 1716. 9. He resided on the easterly side of North Avenue, not far from Linnaean Street, and was a prominent citizen.
