Singular case of murder. --Patrick Mallory, a returned soldier, was arrested a few days since on the charge of murdering his wife, Ann, by shooting her with a musket, at Martin's Corners. It appears that no person saw the act, and Mallory relates the circumstances as follows: He was shooting at a mark near the house with a musket, and at one time, as he was about to fire, he observed a dog chasing his cat, and turned to fire at him. Just as he fired, his wife came out of the door, near where the animals were, and the ball struck her in the groin. He picked his wife up and carried her into the house, where she lingered until five o'clock next morning, when she died. --Buffalo Commercial Advertiser.
