Formation of a New cavalry company. --A new cavalry company was formed in Manchester on the 30th November. Sherwin McRae was elected Captain; Henry H. Gill, 1st Lieutenant; Jos. Hantzman, Senior 2d Lieutenant; James Finnigan, Junior 2d Lieutenant. The company will be attacked to the 32d battalion, under the command of Major John R. Robertson.
From the Southwest. Mobile, Dec. 1. --A special dispatch dated Okolona, November 30, says there is no enemy at Danville or Elenzi. The latter place is occupied by our partisan rangers, under Capt. Harrison. The force at Corinth is much smaller than heretofore. Citizens beyond Corinth say that 12,000 or 15,000 Federal went on the Humboldt and Ohio railroad to the State line, and thence by the Edgefield and Kentucky railroad to Nashville.
Ranaway --From the subscriber, on 30th of November, a negro woman named Louisa. The said negro was purchased by me at Messrs. Dickinson & Hill's office. She is about 5 feet 10 inches high; stout built; very black and had on when she left a blue striped frees. She formerly belonged to Mr. John Cake, of Williamsburg, where she has a husband and a good many acquaintances, and it is likely she will endeavor to get back there again. I will give $10 if taken in the city of Richmond, or $25 if taken any where between Richmond and Williamsburg. The said negro has some of her front teeth out. Arkansas river, 100 miles from its month, by land and naval forces under McClernand and Porter. It surrendered and was occupied Sunday, with all its arms, stores and ammunition. Union loss, 200. Rebel loss, 550 killed and wounded, and between 5,000 and 7,000 prisoners. "Later.--The fort mounted nine guns. The garrison, numbering 7,000, surrendered unconditionally." The Alabama has been heard from. Two more vessels have been captured by her--one, the Parker Cook, of Boston, Nov. 30th, near St. Domingo, and burnt; the other, having a British cargo, was allowed to proceed, but the vessel was bonded. An arrival from New Orleans says the Harries Lane has been sent to sea to join the Alabama. --Farragut has sent the Brooklyn, Sci ta, and other vessels, to recapture her if possible. Capt.
