Contributions for the soldiers. Camp "Hood," Near Dumfries, Va. Jan. 9, 1862. Editors Dispatch: I observe in your issue of the 4th inst. a little paragraph complimenting and commending the patriotism and liberality of the citizens of Madison county, Florida, because they sent thirteen hundred dollars worth of clothing, blankets, &c., to their volunteers in this State. That was, indeed, liberal, and becoming the generous people of that gallant State, but your correspondent hails from a county whose noble citizens have far exceeded in generosity those of the aforesaid county in Florida. The "Tom Green Rifles," 4th Texas regiment, were the happy recipients to-day of over four thousand dollars worth of clothing, blankets, &c., obtained and prepared by the citizens and ladies of Travis county, Texas. This is not the only company which has been similarly provided for since the beginning of the present troubles. I write this, Messrs. Editors, in order to show where credit
