A.= ἀνήνυστος, ἀ. πόνος, εὐχαί, Pl.Lg.735b, 936c; ἀ. ἔργον πράττειν, of Penelope's web, Id.Phd.84a, cf. E.Hel.1285. Adv., “ταῦτ᾽ ἀνηνύτως ἔχει” S.Fr.557.4.
2. endless, never-ending, “οἶτος” Id.El.167, cf. Plb.9.24.4; “κακόν” Pl.Grg.507e; “κακοπαθία” Phld. Herc.1251.17; βυθός, etc., Ph.1.85, etc.: neut. pl. as Adv., “ἀνήνυτα μοχθοῦσιν” Epicur.Fr.470.
