ἱκετ-εύω , fut.
A.“-σω” E.IA462 (cj. Markl.), Isoc.7.69: aor. 1 ἱκέτευσα: used by Hom. only in impf. and aor. with ι^ metri gr., but in Trag. ι_ from the augm.:—Med. and Pass. (v. infr.):—approach as a suppliant, “ἐπεί σε φυγὼν ἱκέτευσα” Od.15.277, al.; “ἐς Πηλῆ᾽ ἱκέτευσε” Il.16.574; ἐς Θήβας ἱ. Hes.Sc.13; ἱ. σε τῶνδε γουνάτων, πρὸς γονάτων σε, E.Hec.752, Med.854 (lyr.): abs., Hdt.3.48, Isoc.7.69, Phld.Piet. 63.
2. supplicate, beseech, c. acc. pers. et inf., “ὁ δέ με μάλα πόλλ᾽ ἱκέτευεν ἱππόθεν ἐξέμεναι” Od.11.530, cf.
