But I will send you back the arrow which you
aimed at me. For as you said that I was dear to the senate and people of
Rome not so much for my own
sake as for that of the republic, so I say that you, although you are a man
of scandalous character, disgraced by every sort of foulness and infamy,
still are detested by the city, not so much on your own account as for the
sake of the republic.
