ἀλλὰ μὰ Δί᾽, ἔφη, οὐκ ἐπὶ τούτῳ μέγα φρονῶ. ἀλλ᾽ ἐπὶ τῷ μήν; ἐπὶ νὴ Δία τοῖς ἄφροσιν. οὗτοι γὰρ τὰ ἐμὰ νευρόσπαστα θεώμενοι τρέφουσί με. ταῦτ᾽ ἄρ᾽, ἔφη ὁ Φίλιππος, καὶ πρῴην ἐγώ σου ἤκουον εὐχομένου πρὸς τοὺς θεοὺς ὅπου ἂν ᾖς διδόναι καρποῦ μὲν ἀφθονίαν, φρενῶν δὲ ἀφορίαν.
