[567] Castigatque auditque, a ὕστερον πρότερον, perhaps intended to express the summary character of Rhadamanthus' justice, punishment following at once on examination. ‘Dolos’ seems to be put generally for crime, which is conceived of as skulking from justice and pleading not guilty. A more special instance of the same thing follows in the next clause. Forb. notes the general use of ‘fraus’ for injury.
