Livy 1. 13 (about the incorporation of the Sabines with the Romans), “Regnum consociant, inperium omne conferunt Romam.” ‘Sollemne’ goes closely with ‘socer,’ that which is his lawful due as father-in-law: this is more likely than Wagn.'s explanation that ‘sollemne’ = “solitum,” and that ‘inperium sollemne habeat’ therefore means “inperium integrum habeat.”
