Broil, vb., 1) trans. to cook over coals: Shr. IV, 3, 20. Cor. IV, 5, 201 (Ff. boiled).
2) intr. to suffer extreme heat, to sweat: “where have you been --ing?” H8 IV, 1, 56. In the following passage: “that will physic the great Myrmidon, who --s in loud applause,” Troil. I, 3, 379, it may mean 'who basks in the sunshine of applause, even to broiling,' or: 'who is basted with applause as meat with fat.'*
