STRAGEATH Perthshire, Scotland.

Roman fort (1.7 ha) on the river Earn between Ardoch and Bertha. Excavation begun in 1973 indicates that there were three successive forts, one Flavian and two Antonine. During the first and last phases the barrack accommodation in the retentura included provision for cavalry, but it is uncertain whether the unit was an ala or a cohors equitata.
