ὑπέροπτα adverbial neut. of ὑπέροπτος [not ὑπερόπτα, epic nom. for ὑπερόπτης, like ἱππότα]: cp. Soph. OC 1695 “οὔτοι κατάμεμπτ᾽ ἔβητον,” ye have fared not amiss. Hom. Il. 17.75 “ἀκίχητα διώκων ι ἵππους”: Eur. Supp. 770 “ἄκραντ᾽ ὀδύρει”: Eur. Phoen. 1739 “ἄπειμι ... ἀπαρθένευτ᾽ ἀλωμένα”: Eur. Ion 255 “ἀνερεύνητα δυσθυμεῖ” （hast griefs which I may not explore）. χερσὶν in contrast with λόγῳ, merely = ἔργοις, not ‘deeds of violence ’: cp. Eur.
