ἑστάτω, be firmly set, as a principle, in the State; cp. 1074 “καθεστήκῃ.” μοι, ethic dat. (‘let me see it established.’) Cp. Plut. Cleom. 9“διὸ καὶ παρὰ τὸ τῶν ἐφόρων συσσίτιον τὸν Φόβον ἵδρυνται Λακεδαιμόνιοι.” καὶ δέος, ‘fear also’ —to temper natural “ὕβρις” (1081). καίριον, in due season and measure; as the Eumenides say, “ἔσθ᾽ ὅπου τὸ δεινὸν εὖ ι καὶ φρενῶν ἐπίσκοπον ι δεῖ μένειν καθήμενον” ( Eum. 517).
