εἴπερ τινὸς σθένοντος,=“σθένοντος, εἴ τις ἔσθενε”: cp. O.C. 733 “πρὸς πόλιν δ᾽ ἐπίσταμαι ι σθένουσαν ἥκων, εἴ τιν᾽ Ἑλλάδος, μέγα” (n.). ἐν πλούτῳ, lit., amid wealth; i.e., the phrase = ‘strong and rich,’ rather than, ‘strong in riches.’ Cp. Aesch. Eum. 996“χαίρετ᾽ ἐν αἰσιμίαισι πλούτου”.
