ὁδὸν … φανῆναι: cp. 1318 “ἐξήκεις ὁδόν”. Here, too, the acc. is ‘cognate,’ since the verb implies “ἐλθεῖν”. (It is not really like Ai. 878, “κέλευθον..φανείς”, where the acc. denotes the ground which the search has traversed.)
