νικᾶν: cp. 109, 134. γε μέντοι: 93 n. εἰς σέ, with regard to thee: Ant. 731“εὐσεβεῖν εἰς τοὺς κακούς”. Odysseus is resigned to Ph. carrying his point by staying in Lemnos. ἐκστήσομαι, ‘make way for’ (and so, here, ‘defer to’): Ar. Ran. 353“εὐφημεῖν χρὴ κἀξίστασθαι τοῖς ἡμετέροισι χοροῖσιν”.
