πρατόν νιν ἐξέπεμψεν, sent him out of the country to be sold (cp. 252 n.): the adj. is proleptic (106 n.).— οὐδ᾽ ἠνέσχετο, ‘and did not tolerate’ (his deed): the verb is really absol. (as in Ai.75“οὐ σῖγ᾽ ἀνέξει”;), though it is easy to supply an acc.: ὁθούνεκ̓=‘because,’ as in 571.—Others understand, ‘brooked not that (cp. 813) he had slain him.’— μοῦνον: O. T.1418 n.
