᾿βόησε: “βοᾶν τινα” usu.=‘to shout to (or for) one’: Pind. P.6. 36βόασε παῖδα ὅν” (called his son to his aid): Xen. Cyr.7. 2. 5Κῦρον ἐβόα”. Here it means, ‘shouted for him, (asking),’=“βοῶν ἠρώτησε.—ἐνέγκοι”: for “ἤνεγκον” and “ἤνεγκα”, cp. Soph. O. C.522.

μηχαναῖς in a bad sense, as Ai.181.
