χωρεῖν πρὸ δόμων, advancing (so as to come) in front of the house. The phrase is correct, though it would more naturally suggest a movement from within the house, as in Eur. Hec.59“ἄγετ̓, ὦ παῖδες, τὴν γραῦν πρὸ δόμων.— λέγουσιν”: the Chorus may be supposed to overhear murmurs of astonishment and anguish from servants of the house, who are watching the approach of the litter.—As to the proposed changes in this v.
