Παίονες: cf. ch. 113; viii. 115; v. 1. 2 n. Ἐορδοί once dwelt in the region Eordaea (Liv. xxxi. 39, 40; xlii. 53) above Pella, west of Mount Bermius, near the sources of the Lydias, and Lake Begorrites (Ostrovo). Those who survived the Macedonian conquest were settled near Physca (Thuc. ii. 99) in Mygdonia, between the Axius and the Strymon. Βοττιαῖοι (cf. 123. 3 n.), in Western Chalcidice round Olynthus; cf. viii. 127. Χαλχιδικὸν γένος: cf. viii. 127 n. Βρύγοι: cf. vi. 45. 1 n. Πίερες: apparently a remnant who remained in the older Pieria, since the Pierians east of Strymon are included among the inhabitants of the Thracian coast (inf.); cf. Thuc. ii. 99; ch. 112 n. Περραιβοί: cf. ch. 128. 1 n. Ἐνιῆνες: cf. 132. 1 n., and for the rest 132 f. ὅσοι ... νέμονται: according to ch. 110, 115. 2, these should come under the naval forces.
