[339] ἔστω: Hermann's “εἴη” is perfect in sense, but “ἔστω” is nearer to “ἐστιν” in M, which has certainly kept the original in “ὅσον”, and may have done so, approximately, in “ἐστιν”. For the confusion cf. Il. 10.41 ἔσται ἐστι εἴη, Λ 366 ἐστι εἴη ”.
