[286] ἄλλῃ νεμεσῶ. Cp. Il.23. 494καὶ δ᾽ ἄλλῳ νεμεσᾶτον, τις τοιαῦτά γε ῥέζοι”. Notice here the change of mood from ῥέζοι to μίσγηται. The optative expresses a purely hypothetical case; in the subjunctive this is limited to a particular, though still hypothetical, instance.
