[286] To avoid the hiatus Barnes conj. “παῤ” for “πρό”, Bentley “πρός” (and so one MS.). ἤιει recurs 13.247, Od. 8.290 only. It is probably a mere mistake for the regular “ἦιε” (= “ἤϊε”), as it always comes at the end of the line.
