[702] ἀγκῶνος, either the salient angle of the tower itself, or the re-entering angle where the tower abutted on the main wall. Or the reference may be to a construction such as that of the walls at Hissarlik, where the lower part is on a comparatively easy slope, the upper vertical; the angle where the two joined may be the “ἀγκών”.
