[141] ἀγχιστῖναι, elsewhere only with “ἔπιπτον” (17.361, Od. 22.118, Od. 24.181, 449), are thrown down in heaps. Many MSS. read “ἀγχηστῖναι”, perhaps on the analogy of “προμνηστῖναι,” Od. 11.233, but the word is evidently a secondary formation from “ἄγχιστος”.
