[361] ἕλκος: the accus. of a subst. is found only here with “ἄχθομαι”, but we have a neut. pronoun in 6.523 (cf. 9.77); and the accusative of a participle 13.352. We might compare also 5.757οὐ νεμεσίζηι Ἄρηι τάδε καρτερὰ ἔργα”. Perhaps, however, in this case it is to be regarded rather as an accusative of the part affected, ‘I have pain in the wound,’ like “ἄχθομαι χεῖρα”.
