[475] Rejected by Zen., Aph., and Ar., on the ground that “ἀνδράποδον” is a later word, unknown to Homer (cf. also note on 3.409δούλη”). The heteroclite dat. “ἀνδραπόδεσσι” does not recur in Greek; it seems to suggest the derivation from “ἀνδρὸς πούς”, which is, however, very doubtful. Ar. also objected to the (fifth) repetition of “ἄλλοι”.
