νήδυ^μος , ον,
A.= ἥδυμος (q.v.), from which it arises through false division in the Homeric text, in Hom. always epith. of ὕπνος, Il. 2.2, al., also h.Ven.171.
II. in later Poets, not confined to ὕπνος, sweet, delightful, “δονάκων Μοῦσα ν.” h.Pan.16; “ν. Ὀρφεύς” APl. 4.217; “ν. ὕδωρ” Nonn.D.48.602; ἄνθος ib.12.176. (Derived by Aristarch. from νη-, δύνω.）
