Laphystium

Λαφύστιον). Amountain in Boeotia, about twenty stadia to
the north of Coronea, on which Zeus had a temple, whence he was called Laphystius. It was here
that Athamas prepared to immolate Phrixus and Hellé, whom Zeus saved by sending
them a golden ram (Pausan. ix. 34.5).
