（Πέος Αρτεμίδος). Now Beni Hassan. A city of Middle Egypt on the east bank of the Nile, nearly opposite Hermopolis. It is the site of some remarkable catacombs, hewn out of the solid rock, and having walls covered with paintings and sculptures.
