ANCHI´ALE (
Ἀγχιάλη:
Akiali), a small town on the western coast of the Euxine, to the north of Apollonia, to which its inhabitants were subject. (
Strab. vii. p.319.) The Latin writers, who mention the place, call it Anchialus or Anchialum. (
