FRUDIS
FRUDIS (
Φρούδιος ἐκβολαί) is placed by Ptolemy (
2.9) between the mouth of the Sequana (
Seine) and the Promontory Itium.
The reading
Φρούνου ἐκβολαί in Marcian (p. 50) is conjectured by Ukert (
Gallien, p. 146) to be an error for
Φρούδου ἐκβολαί D'Anville supposes that Ptolemy's Frudis is the outlet of the Samara (
Somme).
