SELGOVAE

SELGOVAE (Σελγοοῦαι, Ptol. 2.3.8), a people on the SW. coast of Britannia Barbara, in the E. part of Galloway and in Dumfries-shire. Camden (p. 1194) derives the name of Solway from them.
