TEMENOTHYRA

TEMENOTHYRA (Τημένου θύραι, Paus. 1.35.7: Eth. Τημενοθυρεύς, Eth. Coins), a small city of Lydia, according to Pausanias (l.c.), or of Phrygia, according to Hierocles (p. 668, ed. Wess.). It would seem to have been situated upon the borders of--which name is probably only another form of the Temenothyriate--are placed by Ptolemy (5.2.15) in Mysia. (Eckhel, vol. iii. p. 119.)
