VERTINAE

VERTINAE (Οὐερτῖναι: Verzino), a small town of Bruttium, mentioned only by Strabo (vi. p.254), who places it in the interior of that country. Its name is still retained by the village of Verzino, about 7 miles NW. of Strongoli, the ancient Petelia.
