VERTINAE
VERTINAE (
Οὐερτῖναι:
Verzino), a small town of Bruttium, mentioned only by Strabo (
vi. p.254), who places it in the interior of that country. Its name is still retained by the village of
Verzino, about 7 miles NW. of
Strongoli, the ancient Petelia.
