HUNGUNUERRO

HUNGUNUERRO one of the places called Mutationes in the Jerusalem Itinerary, on the road from Bordeaux to Narbonne. From Civitas Auscius (Auch) to Mutatio ad Sextum is 6 Gallic leagues; and from Mutatio ad Sextum to Hungunuerro is 7 Gallic leagues. The road is direct from Auch as far as Toulouse; and if anybody can get a good map of that part, he will be able to guess where the place is, for it is on the straight road between Auch and Toulouse. D'Anville guesses Gircaro; Walckenaer guesses “Hundu de devant et Menjoulet.”
