PISCENAE

PISCENAE enumerated by Pliny (3.4. s. 5) among the Oppida Latina of Gallia Narbonensis. It is generally assumed to be represented by Pezenas in the district of Agatha (Agde) near the Arauris (Hérault). Pliny (8.48. s. 73) speaks of a wool that was grown about Piscenae, which was more like hair than wool.
