SIMYLLA

SIMYLLA (Σιμύλλα, Ptol. 7.1.6), a commercial entrepôt on the western coast of Hindostan, in the district called Ἀριακὰ Σαδινῶν. It is noticed in the Periplus by the name of Σήμυλλα, and was probably at or near Bassein, a little N. of Bombay.
