430. An analogous case is LYS. xii. 60: ἀπολέσαι παρεσκευάζοντο τὴν πόλιν εἰ μὴ δἰ ἄνδρας ἀγαθούς, they were preparing to destroy the city (and would have destroyed it) had it not been for good men.
