εὔχομαι , imp. εὔχεο and εὔχου, ipf. εὐχόμην, aor.
εὐξάμην: (1) pray, vow;
then solemnly declare and wish;
εὔχετο πάντ᾽ ἀποδοῦναι,

however, of praying to the gods.—(2) avow, avouch
oneself, boast;
ἡμεῖς τοι πατέρων μέγ᾽ ἀμείνονες εὐχόμεθ̓
εἶναι,
