γνησίαις ἐπ᾽ ἀρεταῖς: In prose we should consider ἐπί “on account of.” Here it is more plastic. “Wealth and poesy crown their native gifts.” See O. 11 (10), 13: κόσμον ἐπὶ στεφάνῳ, and compare note on P. 5.124.
