ποτιστάξῃ ... μορφάν: Victory transfigures. So the Schol.: οἱ νικῶντες δοκοῦσιν εὐειδεῖς εἶναι. No one who has seen can forget the light of battle even on vulgar faces, and everybody notices the beauty of homely brides. As Iamos is steeped in violet light (v. 55), so Agesias has beauty distilled upon him. ποτιστάξῃ with Bergk for ποτιστάζει. For the generic subj. (without ἄν), see O. 3.13: ᾧ τινι ... βάλῃ.
